| You can rely on my experience.
I've been creating lively, clear instructions for almost 25 years. I've designed and written materials for eight-year-olds and engineers, pre-teens and Ph.Ds.
My experience:
- High tech
I started out as a trainer and technical writer for PC users. More than 40 of my articles appeared in library trade publications, and I presented workshops around Wisconsin. I also developed and marketed new information products.
- Distance ed
I moved into adult distance education when I joined the award-winning Independent Learning program at the University of Wisconsin, where I worked on business courses for adult learners.
- Elearning
Since 1998, I've been designing and writing for online learners. I started out in the K-12 market and switched to corporate elearning in 2001.
Marketing: I've also worked as a marketing consultant and copywriter for small agencies and mid-sized businesses. My marketing skills now help me motivate learners.
My writing has won awards, and I've presented research on how to make instructional text appealing and easy to use.
During all this time, I've been on a crusade to rid the world of Corporate Drone. See the slides from my most recent "Dump the Drone" presentation, or get new ideas from my blog, Making Change.
